Inhale deeply through your nose, feeling your abdomen rise as you fill your lungs with air. Exhale slowly through your mouth, feeling your abdomen fall. Repeat this for several breaths, focusing on the rise and fall of your belly.

2. Box Breathing

Also known as square breathing, this technique involves inhaling, holding your breath, exhaling, and holding again for equal counts. Start by inhaling for a count of four, hold for four, exhale for four, and hold for four. Repeat this pattern several times, maintaining a steady rhythm.

3. 4-7-8 Breathing

This technique helps relax the nervous system. Inhale quietly through your nose for a count of four, hold your breath for a count of seven, and exhale audibly through your mouth for a count of eight. Repeat this cycle at least three more times.

4. Mindful Breathing

Sit quietly and bring your attention to your breath. Notice the sensation of air entering and leaving your nostrils or the rise and fall of your chest. When your mind wanders, gently bring it back to your breath without judgment. Practice this for a few minutes daily to enhance mindfulness.

5. Alternate Nostril Breathing

This pranayama technique involves breathing through one nostril at a time. Use your thumb to close one nostril and inhale through the other. Close the other nostril with your ring finger, hold your breath momentarily, then exhale through the opposite nostril. Repeat on the other side and continue alternating for several breaths.
